Job Characteristics: Incumbent in this position provide licensed professional dental services for patients, including diagnosis and treatment. Patients are treated at Dept of Health, Family Dental Plan. Dentists are responsible for appropriate diagnosis and treatment provided to patients. Will use professional standards and licensing requirements of general dentistry. Dentist will provide care in the areas of preventative and limited Periodontic services such as sealants, prophylaxis, and oral debridement, restorative; first stage endodontic procedures/root canal therapy; minor oral surgery and extractions, and prosthodontics. Dentists will supervise clinical duties of dental assistants for proper patient care, dental instrument handling and sterilization, and infection control. Dentist will not perform administrative employment supervision (performance plans, approval of time,hiring and disciplinary actions).
