Job Characteristics: Incumbent in this position must have a comprehensive knowledge of property & casualty insurance industry. Incumbent will be required to perform the most complex production tasks requiring advanced office skills, and have an entry level knowledge about insurance department rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Incumbent in this position identifies and processes property & casualty insurance rate & form filings, which includes reviewing and evaluating the content of standard and basic policy forms for compliance with statutory requirements and limitations. Incumbent reviews and analyzes less complex rate & form filings to validate statutory compliance or identify questionable practices. Incumbent processes a variety of agency documents by reviewing for accuracy and completeness, updating information, evaluating against policy, comparing elements for consistency or logical relationship, and otherwise taking action where such procedures may require independent judgment. Incumbent is responsible for filtering all incoming phone calls for the property & casualty division, and will respond to the inquiry or forward to the appropriate person. Incumbent in this position will receive and input all incoming property and casualty consumer complaints. Incumbent must be able to originate correspondence, documentation, and other written communication; provide the public and others with information and assistance regarding property and casualty inquiries. Incumbent will locate and assembles records and information which may be complex or difficult to identify, and which may require substantial research, judgment, and subject matter knowledge. Incumbent must exercises judgment in applying agency regulations, policies and procedures.
